Despite a change of date and prevailing sicknesses which reduced numbers a little, this has been generally acclaimed as being probably the best of the 3 such events we have held. The last minute replacement Harp / Flute duo for the `poorly` Arwel Huw Morgan enthralled us with their mixture of Welsh tunes and Carols. It certainly helped that the Harpist was a Neath lady now living and performing in London! Their contribution was sandwiched between the enjoyable lunch including the Jesus College Chefs Cawl, and the Carols and Readings Service led once again by our inspirational Rev Michael Williams. The tea/coffee with Welsh Cakes and Bara Brith back in the Dining Hall finished off a most enjoyable day with a notable amount of Hwyl in evidence!
The event ended our period of supporting MAGGIES charity. We were pleased to have with us their Fund Raiser who addressed us following lunch, outlining the work of the Charity. The retiring collection in the Chapel brought our total to £1500c. We thank you all for your generosity over the 14 month period; and confirm our new support for PARKINSONS UK [Oxon] starting at the St David Concert on 2 March.
